FAQ’s

There is no long list here, we pride ourselves on delivering a personal experience, Lorna and Sue will happily answer any queries you may have.

Q. Do you provide bed linen and towels?

Yes all your bed linen, towels and tea towels are included. We suggest that if you are planning on using the hot tub to bring your own towels.

Q. What time can we arrive and depart?

The cottages are available for arrival after 4p.m. and departure is by 10a.m. Occasionally we can accommodate different times so please contact us.

Q. Do you allow pets?

Dogs are welcome as long as they are well behaved. They are allowed in all of our cottages (max 1 dog) but must not be left alone in the cottages or allowed in the bedrooms, on the furniture or upstairs. Each accommodation has its own enclosed garden. This is where your dogs can be off lead, in the knowledge that they will be completely safe. At Gibraltar Barns there is a safe exercise area for dogs and dedicated wash area. 

Q. Where can I walk my dog on the beach?

If visitors want to exercise their dogs on the beach we suggest Skegness main beach during the winter and then either Seacroft or North Shore (either side of the blue flag sections) in summer.
 
Dogs are permitted around Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve provided that they are kept on a short lead at all times, including on the beach during the winter and dogs are not permitted on the beach from 1st April to 1st September.

For Anderby Creek the beach is dog friendly but restricted between 1st May – 30th September inclusive, on the area that stretches 270 metres south of the pullover (i.e- in front of the houses)

Q. How do I get to the beach from Gibraltar Barns?

On foot you can either visit the beach at the nature reserve (however please see our guidance on access with dogs). Alternatively you can turn left on Gibraltar Road and follow the footpath which crosses the golf course onto the esplanade. Both of these walks are approximately 30 minutes. If driving you can park on the esplanade (just past the golf club house) or the south parade car park is closest. 

Q. Do you have cots and high chairs?

You can request a travel cot and high chair when booking your cottage, you will need to bring your own cot linen.

Q. When are changeover days?

Change over days are Fridays and Mondays (This may differ over the Christmas period).

Q. Do you charge a security deposit?

We charge a £100 refundable security deposit.

Q. Is there a coffee machine in the properties?

Yes they all have a Nescafe Dolce Gusto Coffee Machine.

Q. Can I get a grocery delivery?

If you wish to order a supermarket delivery for your stay, please do so after 4pm on your arrival day.

For Gibraltar Barns the following supermarkets deliver; Tesco, Asda, Iceland, Morrisons.  There is a Marks and Spencer Foodhall on Burgh Road in Skegness and a local Spar Shop a mile away on Drummond Road.

The delivery address is Toll Bar Road, Croft Marsh, Skegness, Lincolnshire, PE24 4SR. We suggest you note in the delivery instructions for your order, that you are staying at Gibraltar Barns and keep an eye out in the carpark.

 For Torwood The following supermarkets deliver; Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda, Iceland, Morrisons, Waitrose.

The delivery address is Torwood, The Dell, Anderby Creek, Skegness, Lincolnshire, PE24 5XU.

Q. Where can I walk at Gibraltar Barns?

Please be aware that it is located on a working farm and occasionally there will be large machinery passing on the roadways. Therefore it is crucial that all dogs are kept on a lead or under control and young children are under supervision at all times. As this is the case most of the land around you is private and not for guests use. When leaving the car park the only access is via the roadway you entered on.

If you turn right down Gibraltar road and follow the footpath this takes you to Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve and other coastal walks. Turning left and following the footpath the other way takes you towards Seacroft Golf Club and Skegness Town Centre.

Q. Are the properties accessible?

Sandpiper at Gibraltar Barns is our accessible friendly property which can be accessed by a ramp and is all one storey. Once in Sandpiper, small adjustments have been made to accommodate a wheelchair user. The wetroom is spacious and shower stool can be provided on request. The communal gardens are all on one level.

Torwood has a downstairs bedroom and wetroom. Though as an original seaside cottage, access is via a step.
